This is a newly created position and will be part of establishing our new production facility in Bedford Park. Under the direction of the human resources manager, the human resources generalist will manage the daily HR activities of our production facility including: talent acquisition, benefits administration, employee relations, performance management and training and development. Your days will consist of…

  • Supporting hiring managers by leading the recruitment process for non-exempt positions; including posting open positions internally and externally, screening applications, coordinating interviews, collecting interviewer feedback and conducting reference checks
  • Acting as liaison for temporary staffing agencies to ensure the adequate staffing levels
  • Facilitating new hire onboarding programs, including gathering all required documentation
  • Supporting administration and communication of benefit plans (medical, dental, vision, 401k, commuter, PTO, etc.) and assist with annual open enrollment process
  • Partnering with managers and subject matter experts to design and implement new hire training programs and materials
  • Leading team member safety programs, documenting work related injury incidents and maintaining OSHA records
  • Managing payroll timekeeping records, time and attendance records and completing team member status change paperwork
  • Partnering with the human resources manager to assist with employee relations; including intake of team member grievances and conducting objective investigations into violations of company policy
  • Maintaining an “open door” policy for all team members
  • Assisting in building and maintaining the Nurture Life culture – open and collaborative, team-oriented, emphasizing quality, teamwork, continuous improvement, high engagement and fun
  • Managing the team member engagement calendar and coordinating events, lunches and birthday celebrations
  • Leading performance management programs, including performance review cycle tracking, individual development plans and succession planning
  • Supporting communication and implementation of new HR initiatives and policies
  • Completing additional tasks as needed; as this is a new facility, additional administrative duties will be needed to assist with other departments including production operations, fulfillment and quality assurance

We’d love for you to…

  • Have 2+ years experience in human resources, experience supporting food manufacturing operations is highly preferred
  • Have a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Business or related field
  • Have a PHR/SPHR certification, preferred
  • Have proven knowledge of human resources laws and regulations
  • Have HRIS experience, ADP Resource and ADP ezLaborManager experience a plus
  • Be extremely organized and detail-oriented
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, start-up experience a plus
  • Have excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the company
  • Have experience with Microsoft Office and Google Suite
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus
