    • Daily recording and managing of culinary production team payroll hours
    • Coding all invoices with general ledger codes before submitting for pre-approval
    • Managing and updating the culinary production calendar
    • Recording and entry of inventory numbers for production to verify any shortages or overages
    • Moving research and development recipes into production software system
    • Recording cost and labor for all new recipes and ensuring they fall within our guidelines

    Your days will consist of…

    • Directing with a hands-on approach the fulfillment process while managing your team (approximately 6-15 in total) ensuring food safety, consistency, efficiency and quality are all met on a daily basis
    • Using a pick, pack and ship system to ensure accuracy and efficiency during the pack out process and communicating with the shipping and logistics manager changes that need to be made to gain efficiencies
    • Managing incoming and outgoing packaged food products so that GMPs and SOPs are always adhered to
    • Managing incoming inventory stock for all packaging goods while using a depletion inventory to place new orders as needed
    • Mentoring and coaching supervisors as well as line personnel to develop future leaders within the fulfillment teams
    • Always taking a hands-on approach and helping to problem solve on the spot ensuring that food safety, quality and consistency are paramount
    • Developing fulfillment schedules along with the Prepared Food Packaging & Shipping and Logistics Managers based on volumes during specific production cycles
    • Management of box building, insulation packout and stock replenishment on a daily basis
    • Writing weekly schedules for both supervisors and line staff adhering to budgets and forecasted fulfillment volumes
    • Ensuring that all products are handled properly, fulfilled according to SOPs and adhering to all HACCP plans and GMPs
    • Constantly developing SO’s as the volumes increase and new efficiencies are realized
    • Working closely with procurement to place orders for any all pack-out supplies such as corrugated, insulation, gel packs, tape and labels for all shipping boxes
    • Constructively and expeditiously confronting and resolving employee conflicts in a fair and well balanced manner  
    • Continual development of employee training programs
    • Working with the procurement team to ensure all food packaging supplies are procured and available as needed for production cycles
    • Conducting daily meetings with your team to lay out daily expectations and goals
    • Attending weekly management meetings to review past production cycles and discuss areas of improvement, opportunity and growth
    • Using a multiple step inventory system to confirm that all product is received and in place for the pick, pack and shipping steps
    • Logging any and all waste to better understand areas of improved COGs
    • Working with the Prepared Food Packaging Manager to manage incoming meals and ensure they are complete and ready for the fulfillment process
    • Constant communication both verbally and via email to better understand areas for improvement, new SOP changes or general questions with the process

    We’d love for you to have…

    Your days will consist of…

    • Designing, documenting and implementing a food safety and quality management program, from the arrival of raw ingredients into our facility through final packaging and shipping to customers
    • Creating, implementing and managing a comprehensive sanitation program for our facility and culinary team
    • Creating a culture of safe food manufacturing practices and procedures to ensure all products we produce are safe to consume
    • Being responsible for continuous management, monitoring and improvement of our food safety and quality practices
    • Organizing all HACCP logs, monitoring and sign off on all HACCP logs during production and writing of new HACCP plans as needed
    • Program validation and verification
    • Conducting regular and surprise inspections of our facility and equipment to ensure food safety standards are continually adhered to
    • Identifying preventative controls
    • Anticipating potential issues and establishing practices to prevent issues and mitigate risks
    • Taking the lead in identifying root causes in the event of a quality issue and taking the necessary actions to resolve the issue and prevent the potential for recurrence
    • Rapidly and effectively addressing any safety and compliance issues if they arise
    • Developing monitoring and reporting to continually assess food safety metrics and risks
    • Managing relationships with third party and government auditors, FDA and USDA

    We’d love for you to…

    • Have at least 7+ years of experience in food safety and quality management
    • Be HACCP certified and have 5+ years of experience in a HACCP certified facility
    • Have an FSPCA or PCQI certification for human food
    • Be internal auditing certified
    • Have experience with GFSI program implementation
    • Have experience in a USDA certified food manufacturing environment
    • Have expertise in microbiological sampling and testing methods
    • Understand food manufacturing in relation to sanitation, personal hygiene, food defense, traceability, recall ability, training, allergen control, labeling, microbiological testing, receiving, storage and manufacturing
    • Have thorough knowledge of food safety and quality management systems, food ingredient law, food processing and controls, Good Manufacturing Practices and the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA)
    • Continually educate yourself on food safety practices and standards, regulations, etc.
    • Degree in food science, food safety, quality management or related discipline is preferred
